About / Raccoon Restoration

We are your roofer, not your adjuster.

After a storm a lot of trucks show up promising to handle the claim, get it approved and cover the deductible. In Illinois a roofing contractor is not allowed to do any of that, and the ones who say otherwise are the ones to be careful with.

Here is what we actually do. We inspect the roof with your permission. We photograph and date everything. We write a repair estimate you can hand your insurer, and we can discuss the damage and repair options with the insurer's representative. You file the claim. You pay your deductible. We build the roof.

Services / 01

Denied, partly approved, or an estimate that looks short. The question is the same: what is actually on the roof?

01

They approved one slope. Hail does not pick a side.

A partial approval usually means the adjuster tested each slope on its own and only some of them met the mark. It is also why one side of a roof gets replaced while the side that faced the same storm does not. We document every slope, every elevation and every detail, with dated photos, so the whole roof is on the record.

02

A repair estimate for a roof that will not take a repair.

Older shingles crack the moment they are lifted. A discontinued shingle has nothing to match it to. Neither shows up from the driveway. We test the shingles, photograph the result and write it into the estimate, so what the paperwork says matches what the roof will actually take.

03

An approved estimate and a legal roof are two different things.

Suburban villages require a permit for a new roof and inspect it against the building code. The code calls for things like drip edge and an ice barrier along the eaves. If those are not in the estimate, they are not paid for. We write the estimate to what the roof needs and what the village inspector will look for.

04

The paperwork versus the roof.

A carrier estimate shows what the paperwork captured. A roofing scope shows what the roof needs. When the two do not match, the roof itself is the evidence. We put the measurements, photos and repair requirements into one clean file for your review and the carrier's questions.
